Destruction Bay

The Cottonwood Park near Destruction Bay is really great!  We had a really relaxing day. Dad fished and mom and I got to sit by the lake and admire the amazing views. We had another campfire, and ....I am anxious to get on the road to Alaska again.  Mom and Dad say we're getting closer but I can't wait to see Lynice and Kris. ❤️

Liard River to Haines Junction

Yesterday was a fairly long day of travel. Arrived in Yukon Territory early, spent a few hours with some amazingly helpful people from Teslin getting a tire issue resolved. 

Mom said it's always better if the tread is on the tire!

We did a short hop to Kluane Lake this morning, staying at Destruction Bay. Lots of silt here. 

Hoping to fish, more to follow on that!!

Liard River Hot Springs

Spent the day exploring the area. Hot Springs were beautiful and warm but kinda smelly. Went for a drive and saw some amazing scenery, and a black bear!  

Had a fire at our campsite and then watched as a herd of buffalo sauntered through!!

Day 3- Fort St John to Liard Hot Springs

Stopped just north of Fort St John last night. This is a picture of the bridge  over the Peace River that we crossed before we stopped. You can see the River through the bottom of the bridge. Mom is still nervous!!

Cool and rainy this morning, but the sun is beautiful now. We went through the area south of Fort Nelson that had the big fire last year. Looks pretty desolate!

We are at Fort Nelson now, hope to get to Liard River Hot Springs around supper time. Lots of mountain driving this aft, no cell service. Will send hot springs pics when I can. Dad says when we're at Liard we are about 1/2 way to Lynice and Kris. 

End of Day 2

Started the day in SK, ending it in BC!  Raining off and on since Whitecourt. Planning to stop after Fort St John. 

Day 2 - Delmas and across Alberta

We stopped last night after we passed North Battleford, some where around Delmas. Mom and Dad were a bit worried about the gas shortage we were hearing about so we stopped in Vegreville and got a couple gas cans of diesel.  This is dad and I at Eagle River (just past Whitecourt) filling up again!
