Saskatchewan

Sunny, cloudy, rainy day, we had everything today. Highway in Alberta is pretty rough but twinned all he way. We decided to head for Saskatoon so we could visit Uncle Kent.  So great to see him!!

This is a tr style bridge over the highway after Valleyview AB. As you can see, raining!

Alberta

Really foggy start in BC, and ended the day in Alberta with rain. Stopped in Fort St John, ended up visiting Ken and Marie Johnston from Grenfell in the Walmart parking lot!!!

Driving along beside the clouds, can see blue clouds above them.

Yukon into BC

We had a good morning for seeing wildlife!  A moose loped across the highway, then a buffalo was eating in the ditch, then a black bear and her 2 tiny Cubs were scooting around the ditch.

Stopped at the side of the road for lunch. What a view!

And then......another Buffalo. Mom really likes them.

We stopped to help a family with camper tire troubles and the........a big herd of buffalo!!

We also saw a lynx and sheep close to Muncho Lake.

Travelling in the Yukon

The Yukon is a beautiful place, not many people but lots of hills, mountains, trees, flowers and sand.   We stopped just past Whitehorse for lunch, sat on the shore at the Marsh Lake Damn.  Dad even threw a line in - no fish tho!

We camped on an old road right by the Rancheria River. Extremely beautiful, the river water was so clear.

Twin City Racetrack

Went to the races today. Had a lot of fun, one scary moment when a driver flipped his car on its roof but he was ok.

July 4 tribute.

Very, very dusty!!  We came home and threw all our coats in the washing machine.

Back to Anchorage!

Yesterday we went to Anchorage to visit Kristophers Dad and Sherri. Also picked up the new couch.

Sherri and I in front of Chuck's Corvette.

Salmon

Forgot to show you the salmon!

My plate!  Yum.  And re salmon, we put maple syrup, soya sauce and mustard powder on it before we BBQ'd it.

Crazy Fishers!

Dad and Kris went fishing at 0300h this morning - Kris caught a salmon, which made a tasty supper!!  Then everyone worked on getting a new damper in the fireplace. Even Gaara participated 😃.

We spent the day on Marks boat on the Gulf of Alaska. It was a. Eautiful sunny day, Dad says about 18 degrees. Saw hump back whales and caught halibut and black bass.

Music in the park

This is the port at Kenai. It's 6-7 blocks from Lynice's place.

We went to see a chainsaw carver. This was one of his carvings, and he was working on an 8 foot rabbit!!!

We went to a farmers market - they have trucks with all different kinds of food, and lots of tents with everything from homemade deodorant and soaps,  salmon leather wallets and purses, and jewelry to clothing and purses. Lots of things to see!

In the same area there was music in the park. A 10 year old girl played electric guitar with a band for one song!

This is the Kenai River - see the boardwalk all along the bank.

We went to help Lynice pick up vegetables from a farm - look at the funny red sign (we don't rent pigs).

Touring around Kenai

Toured around Kenai today. Went out for lunch and tried lemonade with basil, rosemary and orchids in it!!  Mom said it was good.   Went to look at a car in front of a flea market called the Flea Market Emporium - funny name! 😃

These signs are all over the place. One says 189 moose killed since July 1!!

Got apple fritters from a bakery with another funny name......

Lynice liked them!!
